VISUAL IDENTITY - MOTION GRAPHICS


MUTEK is a non-profit organization committed to disseminating and advancing digital creativity in sound, music, and audio-visual art. The "MU" in MUTEK intentionally refers to the concept of "mutation."

The objective was to create the visual identity and promotional videos for the Bogota Edition of MUTEK while maintaining the concept of mutation and showcasing the essence of Bogotá.

CONCEPT


The idea was to reveal the two faces of Bogotá. At first glance, it may seem like a hostile, abrupt, gray city, and indeed, it is precisely for this reason that it’s an epicenter of the worldwide counter-culture. However, as you delve deeper, you discover that it is a vibrant and unconditionally welcoming city.

Outcome: A journey through the various landscapes of Bogotá, from its mountains (Bogotá is a mountain that stands at 2,640 meters above sea level) to the colors of fruits and vegetables in the popular markets, the chaotic traffic in downtown Bogotá, its transportation, its nature, and of course, our iconic burrito sabanero. All of these elements are utilized in the footage and visual identity, creating a mutation between black and white and colors to represent the duality.

This project is fictional and non-commercial, it was my final project for the Advanced Motion Graphics class.
